Andrea Snyder became Executive Director of the Skaneateles Library in November 2025 after four years as Assistant Director and Adult Services Librarian. With over 20 years in public librarianship, she brings a thoughtful, community-focused approach to leading the organization and a commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces.
She is at the forefront of the library's new building project, an initiative that will provide a modern, accessible and welcoming space for people of all ages and support the library's growth for years to come.
In addition to her work at the library, Andrea serves on the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Board and the Central New York Library Council Board, reflecting her commitment to civic engagement and building strong community partnerships.
Andrea holds a BA in American Studies with a Minor in Anthropology from SUNY Geneseo, an MS in Library and Information Science from SUNY Buffalo, and an Advanced Certificate in Public Library Administration from Long Island University.
Originally from the Buffalo area, she has also lived in Baltimore and Long Island and now calls the Finger Lakes region home.
